Four Seasons Heating and Cooling

Compared to other fossil fuels, natural gas is the cleanest, producing fewer harmful emissions, including nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide that contribute to greenhouse gases. Natural gas emits virtually no particles, so using it in your home contributes to cleaner air - indoors and out. When compared to the average all-electric home, the average natural gas home emits 45 percent less carbon.

Piped right to your home or business, natural gas is always there when you need it. There are no tanks to monitor, no calling around for deliveries, no worries about running out of fuel.

Today’s gas heating systems turn as much as 97% of your energy dollar into heat for your home. By comparison, older systems only use 65% of every energy dollar. Additionally, natural gas heating equipment costs less to maintain than other home heating equipment.

Natural gas can do more than heat your home. It can be used for water heating, clothes drying, cooking, and mood-setting fireplaces. It can also be used outdoors for barbecuing, lighting, and heating your swimming pool or hot tub.

Types of Natural Gas

A gas-fired warm air furnace burns natural gas in a sealed chamber to heat an exchanger. Then with the help of a blower or fan, forces air across the exchanger, into ductwork to warm the structure.

In a hot water boiler system, heated water from the natural gas-fueled boiler is pumped by a circulator through radiators, radiant tubing or baseboards. In a steam system, water heated in the boiler turns to steam, and the steam moves through radiators to heat the home.

In Radiant Heat systems water is heated in a natural gas furnace and circulated through your floors, in essence making them large comfortable radiators. Today’s radiant systems can be installed underneath virtually any type of flooring material--wood, tile, even carpet.
