Four Seasons Heating and Cooling

Ground source heat pumps are electrically powered systems that tap the stored energy of the greatest solar collector in existence: the earth. These systems use the earth’s relatively constant temperature to provide heating, cooling, and hot water for our home and businesses.

There are two types of systems, open and closed loop, and can be install in three way, horizontally, vertically, or in a pond or lake. Your build site or existing property will dictate the type of system that will work best for you.

This technology offers the lowest operating cost with the highest efficiencies of any type of indoor conditioning system.  Additionally these highly efficient systems contribute in reducing our carbon footprint and electrical energy requirements.

Federal rebates are in effect until December 31, 2016 with incentives up to 30% of installed cost. This incentive currently has no upper-limit and can be used in new buildings or existing homes!

Our knowledgeable staff of seasoned designers and installers is committed to providing a quality installation, for your unsurpassed comfort.

Types of Geothermal Heating

The geothermal heating system works in harmony with the earth and the sun to provide for your home’s heating and cooling needs. A high-strength pipe made of thermal plastic is buried in the ground in a loop configuration. A close loop is filled with an environmentally safe water/antifreeze solution that transfers heat to or from the earth as needed.

Open loop applications do not use a closed loop of pipe containing a water/antifreeze solution. An open loop system utilizes a near-by water source such as an existing well to circulate water. Heat is then transferred to or from the water source as needed.

Pond loops, referred to by some as pond source heat pumps, are a very economical alternative when a body of water is nearby. The pipes are placed along the bottom of the lake.
